چکیده
Constructing structures on lateritic soil is challenging in geotechnical engineering due to the various physical and characteristics. Many studies investigated different stabiliser materials strengthen parameters of soil. This study used activated carbon coir fibre (ACF) stabilise soils as an environmentally friendly binder. Experiments including unconfined compressive strength (UCS) test direct shear (DST) are performed investigate mechanical properties ACF-stabilised for percentages (AC). Before after ACF stabilisation, microstructural characterisations samples were using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) surface-area analysis (BET). The experimental results demonstrate that 3% can considerably enhance strength, while 2% significantly improves Accordant UCS results, AC-stabilised post-peak behaviour residual strength. Moreover, improve by creating interlocking matrix among AC, particles, fibre. characterisation based findings obtained FESEM BET confirms AC particles fill voids. restrains movement when exposed external stresses. In addition, formation gel stabilised binds increasing comparison with untreated

Experimental Investigations on Coir Fibre Reinforced Bituminous Mixes
The development of transportation plays an important role in the development of nation. With flexible pavements being widely used in India, steps must be taken to increase the life of the bituminous pavements. Flexible pavements are often plagued with problems of cracking and rutting due to repeated traffic loads. Hence one needs to address these problems in order to improve the performance of ...
متن کاملImage Characterization of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Composites
A new methodology to detect fibres orientation in composite materials, using image processing tools is introduced. Several examples with manufacturing defects are studied using RIMAPS technique and the Variogram method. The characterization is made from digitized images of the samples. Combined use of RIMAPS and Variogram analyses identified the orientation of fibres and determined the values o...

We report our experience with carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) plates in the management of 19 problem fractures complicated by either infection, nonunion, comminution or contamination. The combination offers secure fixation without inhibition of callus formation.
متن کاملInterfacial shear strengths between carbon nanotubes.
Interfacial shear strengths or static frictions between carbon nanotubes (CNT) in contact at different cross angles are studied by using atomic mechanics. It is shown that the axial interfacial shear strengths between parallel CNTs in commensurate are two orders of magnitude greater than those in incommensurate. This strong chiral dependence is not surprising and is similar to that of the frict...
متن کاملPunching shear strength of steel fibre reinforced concrete slabs
The ultimate strength of reinforced concrete slabs is frequently governed by the punching shear capacity, which may be increased with addition of traditional fitments such as reinforcing steel, headed studs or shear heads. In addition to these traditional methods of strengthening against punching, steel fibre reinforcement has proved to be an effective and viable alternative. The addition of fi...
